Writers on Rafts

Have you ever read a novel and found that you share your name with one of the characters, hopefully the hero of the story? If not, there’s a chance that it could happen, and you could be raising money to help Queensland’s flood victims at the same time.

Writers on Rafts, set up by writer, author, broadcaster and newspaper columnist Rebecca Sparrow has lots of prizes on offer including the chance to have a character named after you (or whoever you nominate).  There are also piles of books, author visits and expert support from well-known authors for budding writers.

Visit the website for details and to buy tickets.  I’ve donated a couple of book packs which include Brisbane’s Best Bush, Bay & City Walks and the guidebook, Best of Brisbane.
