Valentino Exhibition

I visited the Valentino exhibition at Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art and saw the best dressed gallery crowd I have ever seen. There was not one pair of shorts or thongs (this means flip-flop sandals if you’re not from Australia) anywhere to be seen.

Most of the crowd was female, not surprisingly, and everyone was wearing something beautiful or interesting.

I loved the exhibition, but I have to say even more enjoyable was last year’s Easton Pearson exhibition. Perhaps it’s because they’re locally grown talent, or perhaps it’s because you could possibly own an Easton Pearson item of clothing, whereas for most of us, owning a Valentino would involve a second mortgage.

Ah, we can always dream of our own Valentino red carpet moment – you can see the red carpet dresses worn by Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts.

The Valentino exhibition ends on 14 November 2010. It’s been very popular and my advice is go early before the line-up is too long. GOMA opens at 10am weekdays and 9am on weekends.
